Journeyman Electrician

About the role

1 Resource Group is looking for skilled and dependable Journeyman Electricians for a project in Barstow, California. The electrician installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs electrical systems and equipment according to project specifications, applicable codes and safety regulations. Experience on commercial, industrial or government construction projects and the required California certifications are needed.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, equipment and components
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, schematics and specifications
• Install conduit, cable trays, wiring, lighting, panels, switchgear and related equipment
• Test and inspect electrical systems and fix issues
• Work in line with the NEC, California Electrical Code, project specs and safety rules
• Coordinate with supervisors, project managers, inspectors and other trades
• Maintain a clean, safe site, follow OSHA and client safety policies, and complete documentation and daily records

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of electrical construction experience
• Valid Journeyman Electrician credentials and current California DIR Electrician Certification (required before employment)
• Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications
• Experience with conduit bending, wire pulling, terminations and equipment installation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to safety and quality
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, work at heights and in confined spaces, and wear PPE in active construction sites

Preferred qualifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Experience on industrial, government, military, energy or infrastructure projects
• Experience with medium-voltage systems, motor controls and instrumentation
