Job Captain – Architectural Project Leadership

About the role

Ascend Architecture is seeking a Job Captain to lead distinct portions of architectural projects under the mentorship of senior project leaders. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio that includes housing, industrial, master‑planning, and mixed‑use developments within a collaborative, learning‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and coordinate drawing sets throughout all design phases under the direction of the Project Architect.
• Oversee selected project portions, exercising initiative and sound judgment.
• Collaborate with the team, communicating design solutions and documentation effectively.
• Apply firm standards, conduct self‑reviews, and ensure quality control.
• Manage time and workload to meet project deadlines with periodic input from project leaders.

Required profile

• 3–8 years of progressive architectural experience on projects of comparable type and scale.
• Demonstrated ability to lead distinct project segments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; a team‑player mindset.
• Commitment to high‑quality work and meticulous attention to detail.
• Residing within the Bay Area is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam.
• Experience with SketchUp (preferred).
• Experience with Rhino (preferred).
