IT Support Specialist – Remote

About the role

The IT Support Specialist will deliver first‑ and second‑level technical assistance to end users, ensuring smooth operation of computers, software, and network connectivity. This fully remote position supports a diverse user base, handling hardware, software, and account management tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑ and second‑level support for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Respond to help‑desk tickets and resolve them within defined service levels.
• Troubleshoot operating systems, applications, email, and connectivity problems.
• Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions in Active Directory/Azure AD.
• Support onboarding and off‑boarding, including equipment setup and account provisioning.
• Maintain IT asset inventory and related documentation.
• Escalate complex issues to senior staff or vendors as needed.
• Assist with software deployments, system upgrades, and patch management.
• Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2‑5 years of experience in IT support, help‑desk, or desktop support roles.
• Knowledge of Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365 and basic networking concepts.
• Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or ITIL Foundation.
