IT Service Technician – Onsite Support

About the role

GovCIO is seeking an IT Service Technician to provide on‑site technical support for a federal customer in New Orleans. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining network equipment, and ensuring smooth operation of user environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑call support via the ServiceNow ticketing system, diagnosing and resolving technical problems.
• Perform routine system maintenance, including OS patching and upgrades through SCCM Software Center.
• Install, configure, and replace network hardware such as switches and routers.
• Support VPN and Citrix connectivity for remote and telework users.
• Deliver on‑site training for customer support personnel and assist with asset inventory and disposal processes.
• Maintain video‑conferencing and audio/video equipment, troubleshooting issues and setting up presentations.
• Assist Tier 1 Service Desk with user calls and escalations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–3 years of experience in IT support or related field.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for site coverage.

Required skills

• ServiceNow ticketing system.
• SCCM Software Center for patch and upgrade deployment.
• VPN and Citrix client configuration.
• Network equipment handling (switches, routers).
• Video‑conferencing and audio/video troubleshooting.
