Irrigation & Lighting Technician

About the role

The Irrigation & Lighting Technician will join the Horticulture Team at Troubadour Golf & Field Club, supporting the upkeep of club grounds and nearby residential properties. This hands‑on position ensures the visual appeal of the landscape through reliable irrigation and lighting maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily records of materials, labor, and operations via a mobile management system.
• Repair, install, and troubleshoot multi‑wire, two‑wire, metered and well‑pump irrigation systems.
• Maintain, repair and install low‑voltage landscape lighting systems.
• Generate and update seasonal irrigation schedules through regular inspections.
• Assist with new landscape installations, seasonal color planting, and off‑season leaf removal.
• Operate hand tools, gas trimmers, chainsaws, push mowers, walk‑behind and zero‑turn mowers, skid steer, tractors and mini‑excavators safely.
• Keep work areas orderly, set up and close department tools daily, and report safety or maintenance issues promptly.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in irrigation and low‑voltage lighting maintenance or installation.
• Ability to safely operate wire‑tracking equipment and diagnose system issues.
• Knowledge of hydraulic flow requirements, pipe sizing, head and nozzle specifications, and GPM calculations.
• Valid Tennessee driver’s license and ability to operate landscape vehicles.
• Strong plant knowledge and horticultural practices for diverse landscapes.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
