Investment Services Specialist - Cashiering

About the role

MassMutual is hiring an Investment Services Specialist for its MML Investors Services (MMLIS) Cashiering department in Springfield, Massachusetts. The role reviews and processes paperwork for new and existing business, including maintenance items, transfer paperwork and supplemental accounting documents, and provides customer service. The team processes internal brokerage and advisory transfers in a timely way, handling deposits and withdrawals of funds held with National Financial Services, and sets up and modifies money movement investment and withdrawal plans.

Key responsibilities

• Review broker-dealer business submissions for accuracy and completeness
• Identify cases not in good order (NIGO) and work with the field force to resolve them
• Provide telephone support to internal and external customers on paperwork requirements, NIGO issues and account setup
• Process client data into back office systems with a high level of accuracy
• Research and resolve operational issues, using root cause problem-solving tools
• Meet or exceed productivity and quality standards

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED/HiSET
• At least 1 year of hands-on cashiering experience
• At least 2 years of customer service experience with internal or external customers
• Able to work a 9:30 AM to 6 PM EST shift and pass a non-registered fingerprint background check (FINRA requirement)

Ideal qualifications

• College degree preferred or equivalent business experience
• 4+ years of financial services industry experience
• Knowledge of registration types, brokerage account features, managed account attributes and billing
• Working knowledge of securities industry back office processing for standard non-retirement accounts
• Preferred: knowledge of FINRA/SEC rules, MMLIS new business workflows and systems, and superior telephone and communication skills
