Investigational Drug Services (IDS) Pharmacy Technician, On-Site

About the role

The NEXT Oncology team is hiring a licensed IDS Pharmacy Technician for a steady Monday-Friday schedule with daytime hours, supporting Phase I oncology trials. The role combines hands-on compounding of investigational drugs with administrative support, and suits people who want work-life balance while working in clinical research.

Key responsibilities

• Enter concomitant medications into the EMR and prepare investigational products according to protocol
• Compound IV and oral investigational and conventional agents, including hazardous medications, following USP <797> and <800>
• Manage IP and conventional drug inventory, supplies and documentation in Vestigo and eDOCs
• Assist with audits, monitor visits and SOP development, and provide coverage for team members
• Orient new staff and keep certifications and continuing education current
• Upload and manage protocol and credential documentation in eDOCs and Vestigo

Required profile

• Current pharmacy technician license in Texas (required)
• IV certification with at least 1 year of mixing experience (preferred)
• Chemotherapy certification with at least 6 months of mixing experience (preferred)
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of USP <797> and USP <800>
• Knowledge of GCP and GMP
• Knowledge of oncology research practices

What we offer

• Base pay range of $33,000 to $82,600 per year, depending on qualifications, location and schedule
