Inventory Control Specialist

About the role

Seacoast, a GCG Company, is hiring an Inventory Control Specialist in Chesapeake, VA. The role keeps inventory correctly stocked, labeled and organized, and produces reports shared with warehouse leaders. Hours are 7:30am-4:30pm Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work; pay is negotiable based on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Use Oracle to print data locations, check materials and give managers reports
• Perform cycle counts so inventory is accurate and scanned to its current location
• Pull, move and count inventory physically, noting discrepancies
• Reconcile system errors, review shipment and receipt data and compile inventory reports
• Operate sit-down forklifts and RF scanners to scan, relocate and organize inventory
• Check quality, report and remove damaged or out-of-date material
• Act as backup for other departments and help with extra warehouse duties

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• At least 2 years of warehouse inventory experience
• Ability to read and write printed inventory records
• Attention to detail
• Able to stand, walk, bend and regularly lift 50 lbs

Required skills

• RF scanner experience
• Reach truck and order picker experience
• ERP, WMS or SAP experience
• Cycle counting and material handling experience
• Investigating and reconciling inventory discrepancies
