Interventional Pain Physician (BC/BE) – Academic Practice

About the role

Ochsner Health is expanding its Interventional Pain Medicine program in the Greater New Orleans area and seeks board‑certified or board‑eligible physicians with fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management. The position combines outpatient and peri‑operative interventional care with academic responsibilities such as teaching and research.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, diagnose clinical conditions, and prescribe medications and treatment regimens.
• Provide interventional pain procedures and comprehensive chronic pain management in both outpatient and peri‑operative settings.
• Document encounters accurately in the Electronic Health Record and ensure proper coding of all visits.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Participate in teaching activities, research projects, and the development of a referral network.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Anesthesiology or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
• Licensed MD/DO with active clinical privileges.
• Fellowship‑trained in Interventional Pain Management.
• Willingness to engage in academic duties such as teaching and research.
• Commitment to using comprehensive electronic medical records and adhering to compliance standards.
