Internal Audit/Business Controls Manager – Pharma & Med Tech

About the role

PwC is seeking an experienced Internal Audit/Business Controls Manager to lead audit engagements for clients in the pharmaceutical and medical‑technology sectors. You will design, implement and evolve internal audit functions, leveraging AI‑enabled risk technology to address a broad range of risks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead internal audit workstreams and manage client expectations.
• Guide teams in strategic planning and execution of audit and business‑control initiatives.
• Apply auditing methodologies and AI platforms to enhance risk‑management processes.
• Build and maintain stakeholder relationships to identify compliance challenges.
• Develop and deploy scalable internal audit solutions.
• Promote innovative technologies and best practices across audit teams.
• Validate data integrity, security and compliance within audit frameworks.
• Identify opportunities to optimise business processes and improve performance.
• Mentor team members to deepen technical expertise and support professional growth.
• Address conflicts or issues with clients and team members, escalating when necessary.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (any discipline).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred academic background in Accounting, Analytics/Data Science, Business Administration, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Health Administration, Law, Mathematics, Statistics or related fields.
• Proven proficiency in auditing methodologies and internal controls.
• Strong data‑analysis and visualization capabilities for strategic decision‑making.
• Excellent project‑management and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Demonstrated ability to embrace technology and drive innovation.
