Intermediate Software Tester

About the role

RCS Worldwide, which owns brands such as Media Monitors, Mediabase and Florical Systems, is hiring an intermediate Software Tester in Gainesville, Florida. The tester evaluates the functionality, reliability and performance of broadcast television software and works with developers to keep products meeting the standards required for mission-critical broadcast environments. This is a full-time, non-exempt, regular position paid hourly.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run manual and automated test plans, test cases and scenarios for broadcast television software.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system and exploratory testing.
• Identify, reproduce, document and track defects in Jira, verify fixes and run regression tests.
• Analyze logs, diagnostic tools, SQL queries, databases, APIs and other data, and write SQL queries against SQL Server and MongoDB.
• Review and modify JSON, XML and other configuration files, and deploy software in containerized test environments.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot broadcast equipment, COTS hardware (servers, switches) and LAN connectivity in test environments.
• Create test documentation and collaborate with developers, product owners and support staff, taking part in Agile activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to turn requirements into test cases and communicate defects clearly.
• Preferred: professional software testing experience, Agile experience, and experience with automated tests, cloud platforms, and distributed or real-time systems.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of LAN/WAN concepts, TCP/IP and network troubleshooting.
• Experience installing and troubleshooting Windows.
• Working knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Preferred: C#, Python, PowerShell, JavaScript or similar.
