Job description
About the role
Care Lumen is hiring a full-time Integration Manager, remote in the US with EST working hours. The role leads the design and delivery of scalable data exchange across many systems and vendors, acting as an integration subject matter expert who advises clients on architecture and integration patterns, including agentic logic where applicable. It is an expert position on healthcare interoperability standards (HL7 v2, FHIR, X12/EHI) and modern API-first patterns.
Key responsibilities
- Define scalable, secure integration approaches (API-first, event-driven, batch/streaming, canonical models) and lead integrations from discovery through build, test, go-live and support.
- Design and build APIs, including specifications, versioning, error handling and documentation standards.
- Drive adoption of HL7 v2, FHIR and X12 transactions and turn standards into practical interface designs.
- Partner with data owners, security, compliance, product, engineering and client stakeholders to align on data sharing, governance and timelines.
- Run discovery sessions, establish runbooks and observability practices, and support UAT and data accuracy during migrations.
- Represent integration status and risks to leadership, escalate blockers and build playbooks.
Required profile
- 7+ years in integration engineering, interoperability, technical consulting or systems integration, ideally in healthcare, payer/provider networks or health tech SaaS.
- Proven ability to own delivery outcomes and influence cross-functional stakeholders, including resistant data owners.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and written communication skills.
Required skills
- Hands-on experience with HL7 v2 and/or FHIR, and familiarity with X12 (e.g. 270/271, 276/277, 834, 835) and HIPAA considerations.
- API design and development, including OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman and at least one modern backend language (Java/Kotlin, C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript/Node).
- Nice to have: iPaaS tools (Mirth, MuleSoft, Boomi), CI/CD, containerization, EHR workflows (ADT, claims, eligibility, prior auth) and agentic technology.
What we offer
- Expected salary of $130,000 to $160,000 plus a 10% bonus.
- Remote-first environment with a company-provided computer and up to 10% travel.
- 13 paid holidays, medical, dental and vision coverage, HSA/FSA and dependent care accounts.
- Disability insurance, life insurance, employee assistance program, paid parental leave, flexible vacation and 401(k) with employer matching.
