About the role

This on‑site position at the Birmingham Business Office focuses on managing insurance claims, follow‑up, and billing issues to ensure timely payment and accurate patient account handling.

Key responsibilities

  • Audit patient accounts for accuracy and timely payment.
  • Follow up on insurance billing, handle appeals, reconsiderations, and denial management.
  • Resolve patient billing complaints, process adjustments, and manage zero‑payment EOBs.
  • Review credit balance reports, reconcile refunds, and prepare write‑off requests.
  • Respond promptly to insurance company information requests and monitor account aging.

Required profile

  • High school diploma.
  • At least 1 year of experience in medical billing or insurance processing.
  • Experience balancing accounts and handling oncology billing is highly desirable.

Required skills

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to medical billing and coding.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
