Instructor – Hospitalist Scholars Subspecialty Track

About the role

The Division of Hospital Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine seeks motivated instructors for the Hospitalist Scholars Subspecialty Track. This fixed‑term, one‑year appointment (renewable up to three years) offers recent internal medicine graduates a structured bridge to subspecialty fellowship or secondary residency.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care during nights and weekends at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
• Cover limited weekend shifts at Good Shepherd Penn Partners Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH).
• Engage in scholarly projects aimed at conference presentations or peer‑reviewed publications.
• Participate in structured career‑development activities and mentorship programs within hospital medicine.

Required profile

• Medical degree (M.D. or equivalent).
• Board certified or board eligible in General Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Recent graduate of an internal medicine residency seeking a short‑term hospitalist role.
