Instructor, Automotive Evenings/Weekends

About the role

Georgia State Government is seeking an Automotive Instructor to teach evening and weekend classes in Griffin. The position involves delivering technical coursework, supervising hands‑on labs, and supporting student success in automotive technology.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans for credited technical/occupational automotive courses.
• Instruct and supervise students in automotive repair, diagnostics, and safety procedures.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain program documentation and certification requirements.
• Manage classroom supplies, equipment, and budget requests.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and industry partners on recruitment, retention, and job placement.

Required profile

• Diploma in Automotive Technology.
• ASE Master Certification in Maintenance & Light Repair (G1), Electrical/Electronic Systems (A6), Brakes (A5), Suspension & Steering (A4), and Advanced Engine Performance (L1).
• At least one year of automotive repair experience.
• Preferred: Associate degree in Automotive Technology and one year of teaching experience plus three years of repair experience.

Required skills

• Automotive Technology knowledge.
• ASE Master Certified competencies (G1, A6, A5, A4, L1).
• Automotive repair techniques.
