Injection Molding Process Technician

About the role

Adient is looking for a skilled and motivated Injection Molding Process Technician to join its manufacturing team at the Avanzar San Antonio facility. You will optimize injection molding processes, troubleshoot production issues, support new product launches and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Start, monitor and optimize injection molding processes to ensure consistent quality and efficiency, adjusting machine parameters within tolerances and recommending improvements.
• Troubleshoot process issues, minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
• Investigate product non-conformances and support the Molding Process Engineer in setting up, starting and validating new molds, tools, materials and production trials.
• Optimize robot programming and automation systems, including gripper confirmation, to reduce cycle times.
• Support EHS initiatives, ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA/TCEQ and company safety standards, report incidents accurately and exercise stop-work authority.
• Comply with Customer Specific Requirements (SQAM) and maintain product quality and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Plastics Technology or a related field preferred.
• At least 2 years of injection molding processing experience.
• Able to work the 3rd shift (10:30 pm to 6:30 am).
• Hands-on experience with plastic processing, mold/tool setup, automation systems and process controls.
• Experience with large-tonnage machines (1,500 tons or larger) and with Husky and Haitian machines is highly preferred; automotive injection molding experience is preferred.

• Desirable: experience programming and troubleshooting Sepro and Husky robots.
