Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)

About the role

BETA Technologies is seeking a highly motivated Information Systems Security Officer to protect its critical information security infrastructure and support the company’s mission to revolutionize electric aviation.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security protocols, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA and related frameworks.
• Manage system accreditation, authorization, user account provisioning, access control, and periodic security audits.
• Oversee system maintenance, patching, hardware/software troubleshooting, backup and recovery operations, and performance monitoring.

Required profile

• Active Secret‑level security clearance.
• 3‑5 years of information systems security and administration experience with the ability to work independently.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and technical system‑management skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of NIST, FISMA, CMMC and other security frameworks.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, virtualization and cloud technologies.
• Proficiency in security and system administration tools, scripting/automation, and enterprise‑level system management.
• Familiarity with risk management, backup/recovery procedures, performance monitoring, and incident response.
