Information Management Assistant

About the role

The United Nations Department of Operational Support is seeking an Information Management Assistant to support the Archives and Records Management Section (ARMS) in New York. The role involves handling declassified archives, digital preservation, and developing scripts to ensure seamless data exchange across UN systems.

Key responsibilities

• Export declassified archives from the MF Content Manager (TRIM) system and publish them to the AtoM archives publishing platform.
• Ingest digital archives into the Preservica digital preservation system.
• Design and develop Python or C# scripts to facilitate data exchange and synchronization between various UN systems.
• Maintain and update ARMS technical guidance and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in line with best practices.
• Coordinate periodic transfer of scheduled digital records, ensuring completeness and accurate documentation.
• Support digital records accessioning by managing transfer tools that apply retention schedules and register identifiers.
• Oversee contractually stored digital records, facilitating contract establishment, monitoring compliance, and preparing records for storage transfer.
