About the role

The Infection Control Nurse Practitioner joins a 94‑bed acute‑care hospital in West Hawaii, providing leadership for infection prevention across a Level III trauma center. This permanent civil‑service position offers state benefits, retirement, and a supportive Magnet‑style environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct CLABSI, CAUTI, and SSI surveillance and report to NHSN.
• Manage MDRO containment, outbreak investigations, and construction risk assessments.
• Oversee device reprocessing, water safety planning, and antimicrobial stewardship collaboration.
• Provide staff education on infection control practices.
• Utilize real‑time dashboards, AI‑supported analytics, and optimized EHR tools.
• Lead infection prevention activities and coordinate with physicians, pharmacy, lab, peri‑operative services, facilities, and environmental services.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) with infection prevention certification or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in acute‑care infection control and leadership.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and support a high‑acuity trauma environment.
