Industrial Maintenance Mechanic III - HVAC

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic III - HVAC for its Operations & Maintenance team. This is a contingent role posted in anticipation of potential new scope and future full-time openings. The position provides an intermediate level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting and repairing fixtures and systems in a manufacturing environment, working under minimal supervision as part of a self-directed team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned maintenance on building equipment and related services, and carry out preventative maintenance inspections
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment such as pumps, agitators, hydraulic systems, vacuum systems, RO/DI water systems, compressed air and gas equipment
• Develop and implement planned maintenance procedures, perform job estimates and maintain spare parts inventory
• Assist in installing, inspecting and servicing new equipment
• Support co-workers, contractors, vendors, project managers, building managers and engineers on projects and renovations
• Comply with regulations, codes, standards and safety practices, including lockout/tagout and PPE
• Use the CMMS to schedule preventive maintenance and respond to customers on work orders
• Recommend improvements to maintenance methods and equipment performance

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three years of maintenance experience in industrial HVAC, industrial mechanical machine repair or automotive repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to work in an aerial or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher
• Willingness to work overtime, holidays and weekends, and to obtain a security access badge
• Valid driver's license may be required; no sponsorship for U.S. work authorization is offered

Required skills

• Fluency in computer use, including the full Microsoft product line
• Operating measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments and office equipment
• Reading documents and communicating on the telephone and in meetings
