Industrial Janitor - 2nd Shift

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Industrial Janitor in Ladson, SC to clean and maintain an assigned area of an industrial facility. This is a full-time position on the 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with shifts that may vary depending on business demand. The hiring hourly rate is $15.00, subject to education, experience, skills and market data.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain buildings and facilities, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and vacuuming floors, and shampooing rugs.
• Remove trash and gather it into the appropriate trash and recycling bins.
• Service, clean and supply restrooms, and clean interior glass, windows, mirrors and light fixtures.
• Prepare cleaning solutions, strip, seal, finish and polish floors, and remove stains from carpets, drapes, walls and floors.
• Use ladders to dust and wash furniture, walls, blinds and equipment, and keep the janitor's closet tidy.
• Monitor building security and safety, such as locking doors after hours and checking electrical appliances.
• Drive vehicles such as vans, industrial trucks, golf carts or industrial vacuum cleaners to other facilities if required, and provide extra cleaning during client events.
• Notify managers of repair needs and follow safety, security, compliance and quality standards.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning.
• Ability to obtain and maintain facility and security credentials; US citizenship or permanent residency is required, and no sponsorship is provided.
• Physical ability: repetitive bending, lifting up to 30 lbs, walking extensively, and wearing safety shoes, glasses, gloves and hard hats.
• Preferred: bilingual English and Spanish.
