In Vivo Technician – Laboratory & Animal Care

About the role

Taconic Biosciences is seeking an In Vivo Technician to join its Precision Research Model team in Rensselaer, NY. You will perform a variety of in‑vivo bio‑methods and animal‑care procedures that directly support cutting‑edge research projects.

Key responsibilities

• Execute in‑vivo procedures such as IV, IP and SQ injections, cell preparation, blood collection and tissue harvests.
• Provide routine animal husbandry across multiple housing paradigms and monitor colony health.
• Follow project instructions including breeding diagrams and project charters.
• Maintain accurate, detailed records of procedures, samples, and shipments in project databases.
• Perform weekend/holiday colony observations on a rotating schedule.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or equivalent technical experience.
• Minimum two years of relevant laboratory or animal‑care experience.
• AALAS certification (LVT/CVT) preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organization and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• IV, IP and SQ injection techniques.
• Cell preparation, blood collection, and tissue harvest.
• Animal husbandry and colony monitoring.
• Record‑keeping in laboratory databases.
• AALAS certification (LVT/CVT) preferred.
