Hydromechanical Engineer – Naval Test Systems

About the role

Amatriot is looking for a Hydromechanical Engineer to support mission‑critical naval test systems. The role is based primarily in Memphis, TN, with occasional support at a secondary site in Bethesda, MD, and involves hands‑on work with complex fluid‑power equipment in an industrial test environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop engineering solutions for hydromechanical and fluid‑power systems.
• Apply analytical methods to evaluate performance and identify optimization opportunities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with hydraulic and mechanical machinery.
• Perform system modeling, validation, and performance analysis.
• Work directly with equipment for testing, maintenance, and improvements.
• Use CAD software to create and modify mechanical designs.
• Conduct or support finite element analysis (FEA) as required.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and technical teams.
• Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards and produce clear technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or 4 years equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong background in fluid dynamics and mechanical design.
• Experience in industrial, heavy‑manufacturing, or water‑works environments preferred.
• Familiarity with industrial safety standards and practices.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
