Human Rights Internship – UN Office of SRSG-VAC

About the role

This internship supports the United Nations Office of the Special Representative on Violence Against Children. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to global human‑rights advocacy, research, and outreach while gaining experience in an international multilateral environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor developments related to ending violence against children worldwide.
• Assist with routine administrative tasks for the Office of the SRSG‑VAC.
• Support the organization of conferences, events, and meetings.
• Take notes and draft summaries/action points from internal and external meetings.
• Conduct research and update country profiles for regional focal points.
• Help prepare and translate child‑friendly documents and collect youth‑led initiatives.
• Accompany team members to virtual or in‑person meetings with UN bodies and member states.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Current enrollment in a university program or recent graduate.
• Strong interest in human rights, child protection, and international affairs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
