HR Manager – Centralized HR Lead

About the role

We are seeking an HR Manager to build and lead a centralized HR function for a rapidly scaling, private‑equity‑backed professional services platform operating across multiple studio locations in the eastern United States. Reporting to the COO, you will be the primary HR point of contact for all sites, ensuring compliance, consistency, and operational excellence as the company expands through acquisitions.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and enforce company HR policies and procedures across all studio locations.
• Serve as the first point of contact for studio‑level HR questions and employee relations matters.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states.
• Execute standardized hiring, onboarding, and termination processes.
• Maintain complete, organized, audit‑ready employee files and HR documentation.
• Administer benefits enrollment, changes, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate payroll execution with Accounting/CFO to align with company policy.
• Manage standardized offer letters, employment agreements, and contractor agreements.
• Track employee status changes, required filings, and ensure zero material compliance violations.
• Achieve 100 % standardized onboarding, timely benefits enrollment, and proper termination documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of multi‑state employment law and HR compliance.
• Proven HR leadership experience in professional‑services, engineering, architecture, or similar multi‑site, PE‑backed environments.
• Exceptional documentation habits and process discipline.
• Ability to remain responsive, accurate, and calm under pressure while juggling competing priorities.
• Experience supporting a multi‑entity or multi‑location organization.
• Preferred certifications: SHRM‑CP or PHR.
• Experience with HRIS platforms.
