HR Generalist – White Plains, NY

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join a growing organization in White Plains, New York. This hybrid position will support payroll coordination, employee administration, and workforce processes across multiple locations while helping to build a more efficient HR function.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and submit weekly payroll details to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding compensation, pay statements, and routine payroll matters.
• Apply and monitor HR practices that comply with New York labor regulations, including seasonal and farm‑based workforce requirements.
• Develop, document, and refine HR procedures to improve consistency and operational effectiveness.
• Manage core employee lifecycle activities such as applications, onboarding, separations, and re‑hire preparation.
• Coordinate seasonal staffing transitions, including layoffs and return‑to‑work processes.
• Maintain organized personnel files, compliance records, and HR documentation.
• Collaborate with site leaders to provide practical HR support and ensure consistent administration.
• Identify manual tasks for workflow automation or improved HR system usage.
• Provide daily HR administrative support, including employee relations, benefits coordination, and HRIS updates.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of broad HR administration and employee support experience.
• Strong knowledge of New York employment laws and compliance standards, especially for seasonal labor.
• Proven ability to establish new processes and improve existing workflows with limited oversight.
• Independent worker who can manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to accuracy and record‑keeping.
• Experience in operational, field‑based, or high‑activity settings is preferred.
