HR Coordinator – Hospitality Operations

About the role

The HR Coordinator supports day‑to‑day Human Resources operations for Wish You Were Here Group’s Los Angeles restaurant portfolio. The role focuses on onboarding, compliance, employee records and HR administration while partnering with restaurant leaders and the corporate team.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage onboarding for new hires, ensuring completion of I‑9, W‑4, direct‑deposit and other employment forms.
• Maintain organized employee personnel files and digital HR records across multiple locations.
• Track hiring progress, manage the candidate talent pool and facilitate promotions, role changes or transfers.
• Update HR databases, filing systems and ensure documentation meets federal, state and local labor requirements.
• Support HR leadership with audits, training programs and compliance initiatives.
• Respond to employee HR inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Assist managers with employee‑relations documentation and HR processes.
• Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture and serve as a point of contact for basic HR questions.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in HR, administration or hospitality.
• Strong organizational abilities with capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Hospitality or a related field preferred.

Required skills

• Experience with HRIS platforms.
• Familiarity with payroll systems.
