HR Business Partner

About the role

ABB is hiring an HR Business Partner (HRBP) for its Jonesboro, AR site, reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, Operations (ELIP US/LATAM). The HRBP is a core member of the local Business Management Team, providing on-site HR support to employees and managers so that workplace relations and performance remain effective and sustainable, in close collaboration with the HR network. The role is onsite in Jonesboro, AR, contributes to the ELIP division in US/LATAM, has about 15% travel and reports to one direct report.

Key responsibilities

• Support the manufacturing plant, site leadership and employees with employee relations, compliance guidance, recruitment of salaried positions, wage and benefit advice and performance management.
• Ensure local compliance and apply HR policies defined by Group Centers of Expertise, including labor relations as defined in each country with Country HR.
• Deploy divisional and corporate HR strategy and initiatives, and help deliver training and development for site leadership and employees.
• Handle HR generalist tasks such as policy development, benefits administration, employee relations and recruiting.
• Lead, coach and develop HR resources supporting the Jonesboro site, and walk the site floor regularly, hold roundtables and work on employee retention and morale.
• Coordinate people reviews and succession planning at site level, and work with Health and Safety on programs, metrics and training.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of HR generalist experience, with at least three in a manufacturing environment.
• Authorization to work for ABB in the US.
• Preferred: proven ability to balance business partnership with employee advocacy, and experience coaching leaders.

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of employment law.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Planning, organizational, problem-solving, judgment and influencing skills.
