Hourly Spanish Teacher (World Language)

About the role

This is a part‑time, hourly position teaching Spanish as a World Language for secondary students. The role begins on August 8th, 2025 and requires two hours of instruction each A‑Day, under a one‑year fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver secondary Spanish curriculum aligned with district goals.
• Create lesson plans and instructional materials that maximize the limited instructional time.
• Assess student learning continuously and adapt instruction for individual and small‑group needs, including students with special needs.
• Maintain a safe, supportive classroom environment conducive to personalized instruction.
• Record grades, attendance, and achievement data accurately and report in accordance with district procedures.
• Communicate regularly with parents and encourage their involvement in the learning process.
• Collaborate with fellow secondary staff on curriculum evaluation and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
• Manage classroom supplies, requisition instructional aids, and maintain inventory records.
• Administer standardized tests following district testing programs.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of current teaching methods, secondary curriculum, and differentiated instruction.
• Familiarity with data information systems, data analysis, and action‑plan development.
• Understanding of applicable federal and state education laws.
• Ability to use computer network systems and standard software applications.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and self‑evaluation skills.
• Capacity to build cooperative working relationships with colleagues, students, and families.
