Hotel Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Engineer (Hotel Maintenance) ensures the hotel is kept to high quality and sustainability standards while providing warm, friendly service to guests. This position offers a clear growth path toward supervisory and chief engineering roles.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct room inspections, identify repair needs, and perform preventative maintenance.
• Install, repair, and replace sheetrock, wall coverings, paint, basic electrical fixtures, light switches, receptacles, bulbs, and furniture.
• Install, replace, and program televisions, perform minor plumbing tasks, and service heating, cooling pumps, and water lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment, maintain accurate maintenance records, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes.
• Assist as a bell attendant during staffing shortages and follow service recovery guidelines.

Required profile

• High school diploma; trade school coursework in a related field preferred.
• Previous experience as an engineer/maintenance worker or equivalent training.

Required skills

• Sheetrock and wall covering installation/repair.
• Painting, basic electrical work (fixtures, switches, receptacles, bulbs).
• Furniture repair and television installation/programming.
• Minor plumbing, heating and cooling pump maintenance, water line tracing.
• Kitchen equipment troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of MSDS and OSHA safety standards.
