Hospital Security Professional (Unarmed)

About the role

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Professional for a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. The officer conducts foot and/or vehicle patrols inside and outside the facility, controls access and egress, monitors CCTV and alarm systems, writes reports and helps deter criminal activity and misconduct. Candidates must be able to submit to drug screening where permitted by law, and a TB test and some vaccinations may be required because the site is a healthcare facility.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol hospital grounds on foot or in a vehicle and document unusual conditions that could pose security or safety risks
• Help hospital staff de-escalate situations involving patients and restrain combative individuals when necessary, within company and customer guidelines
• Transport patients to the morgue and assist in escorting patients from the helicopter pad to the emergency room
• Assist with evacuations during fires, medical emergencies and natural disasters
• Sound alarms or call police or fire departments when needed, and warn violators of rules such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden items
• Monitor entrances and exits, permit only authorized persons and prevent contraband from entering or leaving
• Investigate incidents, prepare reports and keep written logs

Required profile

• At least 6 months of security professional experience, or 2 years of verifiable employment in customer service or the protective services industry (security, healthcare, military, law enforcement or corrections preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license meeting Allied Universal driver policy requirements
• Comfortable with morgue duty and with restraining combative individuals within guidelines
• Able to accept a TB test and required vaccinations
• At least 18 years old, or older if state law requires

Required skills

• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• Clear oral and written communication, problem-solving and active listening
• Attention to detail and ability to assess situations quickly
