Hospice After-Hour On-Call Registered Nurse

About the role

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, offers home health, hospice and community-based services. It is hiring a Registered Nurse for hospice after-hour on-call duty in Vienna, West Virginia, covering Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. The nurse provides nursing support, triages patient needs and coordinates care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on-call nursing support, triage patient needs and determine appropriate interventions
• Assess patient conditions by phone and/or in person and escalate care as needed
• Coordinate with physicians, care teams and caregivers to ensure timely and effective care
• Deliver patient and caregiver education on symptom management and care plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and clinical decisions

Required profile

• Current RN license for the state(s) of assignment
• Current CPR certification
• At least 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in hospice, home health or acute care
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance

• Salary ranging from $90,650 to $135,976 per year, depending on factors such as local labor market, education, experience and certifications
