About the role

The Horticulture Assistant will support the daily operations of Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, Arkansas. This temporary, fixed‑term position is open to current University of Arkansas System employees, including student workers and graduate assistants.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with planting, pruning, and general care of garden collections.
  • Help maintain garden pathways, displays, and visitor areas.
  • Support horticultural staff in preparing plant inventories and labeling.
  • Participate in seasonal garden projects and events as directed.

Required profile

  • Must be a current employee of the University of Arkansas System (student employee or graduate assistant).
  • Interest in horticulture and willingness to work outdoors.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and work collaboratively.
