Homeschool Instructor – Secondary Math

About the role

You will design, deliver, and evaluate engaging lessons for middle‑school learners, fostering mastery in mathematics and literacy while supporting academic growth in one‑on‑one or small‑group settings.

Key responsibilities

• Create and implement customized lesson plans aligned with state standards and student learning styles.
• Deliver interactive, adaptive lessons using games, real‑world examples, STEM readings, and writing exercises.
• Administer and grade assignments, quizzes, and projects; track progress and adjust instruction.
• Modify lessons for students with learning differences such as ASD, dyslexia, or dysgraphia, using strategies that build confidence and executive functioning.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback and maintain regular communication with parents or guardians.
• Establish a positive, nurturing learning environment that encourages independent learning and critical thinking.

Required profile

• Certified teacher or at least 5 years of proven experience as a homeschool instructor.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, English, or a related field preferred.
• Experience teaching middle‑school students in Math and ELA.
• Familiarity with learning disabilities (e.g., ASD, dyslexia, dysgraphia) and ability to adapt lessons accordingly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational skills, and a patient, empathetic approach.
