Home Services Sales Consultant - Interior Products

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Home Services Sales Consultant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to sell its exterior and interior products and services to customers. The consultant's main work is outside sales visits to customer homes and trade shows, spending most of the time traveling and away from a dedicated office. The position reports to the Sales Manager and has no direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Make sales calls at customers' homes, assess their needs, give tailored product recommendations and negotiate customized price quotes
• Present warranty information and financing options, and maintain profitability
• Complete sales contracts and paperwork, and take measurements to ensure orders meet installation specifications
• Solicit new customers inside assigned stores and at industry events such as Home Shows
• Build relationships with store management and associates, educate them on HDIS offerings and raise awareness of HDIS programs
• Attend sales and store team meetings to improve sales techniques and learn about product offerings

Required profile

• Able to work in the United States; must be 18 or older
• High school diploma or GED; 1+ year of related work experience preferred
• Typical overnight travel of 5% of the time; must stand or walk continuously and lift or carry 8-20 pounds regularly
• Exposure to dust, fumes or odors is common

Preferred qualifications

• Prior in-home or virtual sales experience
• Prior home improvement industry experience
• Experience generating leads and computer and app skills (email, iPad, apps)
