High School Religious Studies Teacher (9th Grade)

About the role

The Ursuline School is looking for a dedicated High School Religious Studies Teacher for the 9th‑grade level. The role involves delivering three Religious Studies courses, fostering critical thinking, interpretation, analysis, and research skills while supporting the school’s Catholic mission.

Key responsibilities

• Teach three middle‑high school Religious Studies courses, maintaining continuity with the established curriculum.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop critical thinking, interpretation, analysis, and research skills.
• Differentiate instruction to support students with varied academic and social‑emotional needs while maintaining high expectations.
• Use appropriate technology and instructional resources to support learning and assess student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum and student support, and communicate effectively with students, families, and administrators.
• Participate in faculty meetings, school activities, and professional learning; lead an advisory group.

Required profile

• Practicing Catholic with a commitment to Catholic, faith‑based education.
• Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Experience teaching at the secondary level preferred.
• Ability to enter an established classroom, build relationships, and collaborate for a smooth transition.
