Heating Technician – Full‑time Facility Role

About the role

Join the Facilities team of Witham Family Hotels as a Heating Technician. In this full‑time, year‑round position you will keep hotel and employee housing heating systems safe, reliable and efficient across multiple properties in Bar Harbor and Ellsworth.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair oil‑ and propane‑fired boilers, furnaces and water heaters.
• Perform quarterly, semi‑annual and annual preventive maintenance and seasonal shutdown/start‑up tasks.
• Respond to emergency heating calls, including nights and weekends.
• Conduct final inspections to ensure safe operation and compliance with codes.
• Maintain accurate service records, parts usage and reports for the Facilities Director.

Required profile

• Valid propane technician license and clean driver’s license.
• Prior experience as a heating technician preferred.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of wiring and plumbing, and ability to work in confined spaces and at heights up to 50 ft.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
