Healthcare Operations Manager – Strategy & Transformation

About the role

Deloitte’s Strategy & Transactions team is seeking a Healthcare Operations Manager to lead analysis of hospital performance and utilization data for the Rural Health Transformation Program. The role serves as the operational backbone for engagement teams, turning complex financial and utilization data into actionable insights for state and health‑system clients.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze hospital cost reports, audited financial statements, and payer mix data to assess financial performance and viability.
• Interpret utilization, catchment, and migration data to identify service‑line and market dynamics affecting rural hospitals.
• Identify financial levers (service‑line changes, staffing models, payer contracting) and evaluate their impact.
• Translate complex data analysis into clear, client‑ready insights and recommendations.
• Manage day‑to‑day delivery of operational and financial analysis workstreams, overseeing junior analysts.
• Collaborate with project leadership to shape recommendations for client presentations and program design.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in hospital finance, healthcare operations, or related analytical roles.
• Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills for managing large, complex datasets.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
