About the role
The Illinois Department of Corrections seeks a Health Care Unit Administrator for the Big Muddy River Correctional Center. This senior‑level position oversees all aspects of the health‑care unit’s daily operations, ensuring quality patient care and compliance with state regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and direct 24/7 operations of the Health Care Unit, acting as full‑line supervisor.
- Monitor financial performance and prepare monthly reports.
- Conduct unscheduled inspections to maintain a safe and effective treatment environment.
- Lead regularly scheduled staff meetings and coordinate health‑care activities with external entities.
- Collect CQI data, complete audits, and communicate with the Office of Health Services.
- Perform other duties within the scope of the role as assigned.
Required profile
- Four‑year college degree or equivalent.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
- Minimum three years of relevant experience in health‑care administration or nursing supervision.
Required skills
- Registered Nurse licensure (RN) in Illinois.
