Head Swim Team Coach

About the role

Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, you will lead and manage the competitive swimming program at the Charles River YMCA, ensuring high-quality coaching and program delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee the competitive swimming program.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate paid and volunteer coaches and administrators.
• Maintain up‑to‑date certifications for all staff and ensure compliance.
• Monitor program registrations, participant records, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Write and implement workouts, organize the year‑round meet calendar, and manage meet line‑ups.
• Participate in weekly branch leadership meetings and coordinate with core aquatics programming.

Required profile

• At least 21 years of age.
• Minimum 5 years of competitive swimming coaching experience.
• Experience supervising and developing coaches, schedules, and member relations.
• Knowledge of YMCA and US Competitive Swimming trends.
• Physical ability to interact with members, lift up to 50 lbs, and meet verbal communication demands.
