Head Start Teacher – Early Childhood Education

About the role

Save the Children is seeking a dedicated Head Start Teacher to design and deliver age‑appropriate educational experiences for preschool children. You will lead a classroom, ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations, and build strong partnerships with families.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans that promote social‑emotional, physical and cognitive development.
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Record and document observations, assessments, and screenings in both paper and online systems.
• Collaborate with the Center Director, Assistant Teacher, Program Aides and Volunteers to support classroom activities.
• Engage children throughout the day, providing supervision indoors and outdoors, including playground safety.
• Communicate important issues to the manager and uphold confidentiality.
