Head of Strategic Investments

About the role

LaunchEd, an education-focused incubator and accelerator created by RDI, is expanding its investment capability to evaluate, structure and execute investments, partnerships and acquisitions that strengthen the education ecosystem. As Head of Strategic Investments, you will lead the financial evaluation and execution of strategic transactions across the portfolio, working closely with the Founder/CEO and senior leadership. You will build financial models, structure deals, run due diligence and guide transactions from initial opportunity through closing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial evaluation of investment opportunities and build and maintain financial models for investments, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic partnerships
• Support decisions with valuation frameworks and scenario analyses, and structure minority investments, majority acquisitions, recapitalizations and joint ventures
• Manage end-to-end transaction execution, coordinate financial, operational and market diligence, and work with legal counsel on transaction documents
• Participate in negotiations with founders, investors and counterparties, and support special situations such as investor buyouts, recapitalizations and strategic mergers
• Evaluate strategic opportunities connected to the ecosystem and help develop repeatable approaches for structuring investments as the portfolio grows

Required profile

• 5-10 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate development or a similar transaction-focused role
• Experience supporting or leading acquisitions, investments, joint ventures or other strategic transactions
• Ability to explain complex financial structures clearly to non-financial stakeholders
• Experience working with legal and financial advisors during transaction execution
• Entrepreneurial mindset, strong analytical thinking, comfort with ambiguity, and collaboration with senior leadership
