Hardware Systems Performance Architect - Connectivity/Wireless & VAS

About the role

Join Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies, a joint venture shaping the future of software‑defined electric vehicles. As a Hardware Systems Performance Architect you will lead the characterization of low‑voltage electrical and wireless connectivity systems, influencing hardware decisions from early concept through validation.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with hardware architecture, design, and software teams to develop comprehensive performance characterization plans.
• Identify system‑level metrics, bottlenecks, and design risks for Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, 4G/5G, GNSS, and UWB technologies.
• Design, integrate, and automate test setups across prototype boards, bench‑top mock‑ups, lab cars, and HIL infrastructure.
• Orchestrate end‑to‑end development of performance pipelines, from requirement definition to data acquisition and processing.
• Execute validation activities, analyze results, and produce clear reports that guide architecture decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hardware architecture and performance validation for automotive or similar high‑complexity systems.
• Strong understanding of low‑voltage electrical systems and wireless connectivity technologies.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate technical findings to diverse stakeholders.
