Hardware & Embedded Research Intern (Fall 2026)

About the role

The internship is with Bosch's Research and Technology Center North America, working in a sensor systems team to explore novel sensor applications for customers. You will investigate concepts, assess business impact, and develop prototype demonstrators using a variety of sensing modalities.

Key responsibilities

• Research and propose unique sensor‑based solutions for customer needs.
• Evaluate the commercial impact of proposed applications.
• Design, assemble, and tune hardware prototypes and demonstrators.
• Conduct paper or patent research, collect and curate data sets.
• Develop system designs, train and evaluate models, and document results.
• Present findings to senior management and potentially submit work to conferences or secure IP.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD candidate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Strong background in MATLAB and Python for signal processing.
• Experience with C/C++ programming.
• Knowledge of time‑series signal processing and feature extraction.
• Familiarity with machine‑learning libraries such as TensorFlow.
