Hair Stylist / Barber

About the role

Midtown is looking for a Hair Stylist/Barber to join its spa team. Hair stylists are courteous professionals who promote the well-being and satisfaction of members and guests and are an integral part of the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hair treatments in accordance with established procedures
• Be proactive about learning new hair trends and techniques
• Maintain cleanliness of spa areas during the shift, dispose of trash and dirty lines, and secure supplies at the end of the shift
• Partner with and assist other associates to promote spa services and achieve department goals
• Promote spa and salon services and sell retail products
• Address member and guest needs in a professional, positive and timely manner

Required profile

• Minimum of one year of experience as a hair stylist, with a high level of proficiency
• High level of client service with courtesy and attentiveness
• Adherence to local and state licensing laws and regulations
• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Friendly, personable and passionate about hair
• Reliable and able to work independently

Required skills

• Excellent technical styling abilities including blowouts, braids, color, cuts and formal styling
• Good communication and time management skills
• Ability to maintain the salon's physical image and supply inventory
