Groundskeeper / Porter – Student Housing

About the role

Greystar is seeking a reliable Groundskeeper/Porter to maintain the appearance and safety of the Iconic on Alvarado student living community. You will work closely with the service team to ensure common areas, amenities, and grounds are clean, well‑kept, and welcoming for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect the property throughout the day, removing litter, debris, pet waste, and ensuring all common areas remain tidy.
• Clear trash from vacant units before the make‑ready process and keep storage areas organized.
• Perform minor service requests and assist the make‑ready specialist with unit turnovers.
• Change locks according to policy and verify that pool gates and other safety features operate correctly.
• Distribute resident notices and communicate important information as needed.
• Report hazards or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Provide courteous customer service, answering resident questions and handling maintenance complaints sensitively.
• Follow Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, attend safety meetings, and complete required OSHA training.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced residential environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Good communication skills for interacting with residents and staff.

Required skills

• Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on the property.
