Groundskeeper / Porter

About the role

Yugo, a global student housing provider, is hiring a Groundskeeper / Porter at its Northgate Lakes property. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the role keeps the community clean and well-maintained through daily upkeep of the grounds, cleaning of common areas and light maintenance, helping protect the property's value and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the property's cleanliness, including daily grounds upkeep, trash removal and cleaning of hallways, courtyards, the office, clubhouse, laundry rooms and model units.
• Clean and prepare vacant units for move-in, checking appliances, windows, floors and fixtures.
• Support property turnover and the Turn Program during high-demand periods with the Property Maintenance Manager.
• Report unusual conditions and maintenance issues, and communicate supply needs to the General Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
• Replace burnt-out light bulbs, broken fixtures and other minor repairs inside and outside the property.
• Safeguard buildings, tools and equipment, follow OSHA safety guidelines and safety training, and maintain pool and spa areas where applicable.
• Occasionally work near mechanical equipment, at height or around fumes and chemicals, and lift items of 50 pounds or more in varying weather and moderate noise.
• Assist with additional maintenance, operational and property improvement projects as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year of experience, preferably in residential properties, rental operations or related business operations.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to accuracy and quality, and ability to solve problems promptly.
• Proficient with technology and adaptable to online systems.
• Carbon Literacy Certification or willingness to undertake training.
