Groundskeeper – Campus Maintenance

Key responsibilities

• Assess campus grounds for maintenance needs and follow design plans for planting or sod installation.
• Mow grass, trim weeds, operate large power lawn mowers, edgers, and other landscaping equipment.
• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, apply mulch, pine straw, and treat areas with herbicides and pesticides.
• Maintain and repair grounds‑maintenance equipment and associated vehicles.
• Collect trash, remove snow and ice, and assist with parking‑lot and asphalt repairs.
• Provide preventive maintenance and perform any additional duties required to support campus facilities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of basic horticultural practices and grounds‑keeping equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lb regularly and work outdoors in extreme weather.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to follow instructions.

Required skills

• Operation of large power lawn mowers and edgers.
• Use of hand tools and gardening tools for planting and mulching.
• Operation and maintenance of grounds‑maintenance vehicles.
• Application of herbicides, pesticides, and insect control treatments.
