Grounds Keeper / Porter

About the role

Adega, a stabilized garden-style community of 209 units, is hiring a Grounds Keeper/Porter. The role keeps the physical aspects of the community maintained so that grounds, amenities and curb appeal meet standards, and supports the service team. The schedule is flexible daytime hours, with call-outs possible on evenings, weekends and holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect the community throughout the day to remove litter, debris and pet droppings, keeping common areas and amenities neat.
• Remove trash and items from vacant apartments before make-ready, transfer trash to the dumpster or storage area, and clean and maintain storage areas.
• Complete minor and routine service requests asked by the Service Supervisor or Community Manager and help the make-ready specialist with the turn process.
• Change locks in line with property policy and check that pool gate access complies with codes and safety standards.
• Distribute notices and communications to residents as needed.
• Report hazards or dangerous situations to supervisors.
• Treat residents with respect, answer questions and respond sensitively to complaints about maintenance.
• Attend safety meetings, complete OSHA and other safety training, and report accidents and incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Entry-level position.
• Valid driver's license to operate a golf cart on property.
• Able to stand, walk or sit for long periods, bend, climb ladders, reach, carry objects and crawl in confined spaces.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather and to lift up to 25 pounds alone and 50 pounds with help.
• Rare or regular travel may be needed to help other properties or attend training and meetings.

• Hourly pay of $20.67 - $22.00 (Rohnert Park).
