Grocery Delivery Driver

About the role

Hy-Vee is hiring a Delivery Driver in its Grocery department in Kearney. The driver provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, delivers products to customers and keeps the delivery vehicle clean inside and out. The position is non-exempt and reports to the District Store Director, Store Manager and other store managers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, greet customers and learn their names where possible
• Deliver products to customers, collect payment and make change when necessary
• Return payments and beginning cash to the store
• Maintain food and groceries at proper temperature according to food safety standards
• Follow company policies on personal hygiene, dress and reporting to work on time
• Work as part of a team with co-workers
• Secondary duties: assist in other store areas, help with special projects and maintain the delivery vehicles

Required profile

• No specific education required
• Valid driver's license with no DOT restrictions and age 18 or older to drive a company vehicle
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently, with standing, walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing stairs
• Ability to see detail at near range, with or without correction
• Willingness to work in dust, noise, temperature extremes and with a fast pace
